Abstract

This collection is primarily photographs of the Heatwole Family of Salisbury. Many of the photos are of Edwina and her brother, Robert (or William) Heatwole, as children. They lived in Newtown, 616 Poplar Hill Ave., where her father had a medical practice in his home. This collection also includes the First and Final Administration and Distribution Account of Lenora C. Betts.

Biographical History

Edwina Betts Heatwole was born November 18, 1914  and passed December 11, 2002.  She is buried at Parson's Cemetary in Salisbury, MD.  Her father was W.S. Heatwole and her mother was Mollie Edythe Betts Heatwole (Dec 9, 1978 - March 9, 1922).  Edwina's mother died when she was a child and Dr. Heatwole married a second time.  Edwina attended school on North Division Street and later, Salisbury College.  She was trained as a teacher but worked for the Dulaney Company for many years as a secretary.
