Abstract

Series of audio cassette tapes featuring weekly radio programs for the state comptroller, Louis L. Goldstein, 1976-1977. Topics featured from the include, "The Maryland Hall of Records", Thomas Jefferson and John Hanson", "Maryland State Parks", and a "Driving Tour of the Eastern Shore". Accompanying scripts for additional programs including the "Life of Thomas Johnson", and "Maryland's Four Signers" have been cataloged and is housed with the Nabb Research Center's non-circulating book collection, https://catalog.umd.edu/F/?func=item-global&doc_library=MAI01&doc_number=002206055&year=&volume=&sub_library=SU-NC

Biographical History

Louis L. Goldstein, (1913-1998), born in Prince Frederick, Calvert County, Maryland, he was a well-known Maryland politician who served as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates from 1939-1942, and a member of the Maryland State Senate from 1947-1958. During World War II, Goldstein enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After his service to the Maryland Senate, Goldstein served as the Maryland State Comptroller from 1959 until his death in 1998. He was married to lawyer Hazel Horton Goldstein (1917-1996), they had three children, two daughters, and a son.
