Abstract

Series of postcards written to Miss Elizabeth S. Hammond, Milford, Delaware, 1908-1909, 1918. Postcards depict scenes of Hurlock and the Pier at Ocean City, Maryland; as well as a photo postcard written by C. Kennedy Lewis depicting the WCA Baseball team, of which he is a member.

Biographical History

Elizabeth Satterfield Hammond (1888-1963), was born to Charles M. and Sallie W. (Postles) Hammond, Milford, Delaware, on the family farm where her father raised chickens and her mother worked as a housewife. Ms. Hammond was employed as a book keeper for a dental laboratory and resided at 117 South Walnut Street, Milford.
