Abstract

This collection includes business ephemera from varying locations in Wilmington, Delaware and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, including a brochure from Quaker City Life Insurance Company, a packet of sewing needles from the National Textile Company and a sales envelope with sewing needles from the National Deaf Mute Sales Company.

Administrative History

In 1620, Juan Pablo Bonet created the deaf-mute alphabet. The first deaf school in America formed in Cobbes, Virginia in 1812.
