Abstract

This collection contains three letters from Ruth E. Newton to Albert and Carrie Smith in 1902. The letters are progress reports for their daughter, Emma Lou Smith, as she attended possibly first grade.

Biographical History

Emma Lou Smith (b.1895) was the daughter of lumber inspector Albert C. Smith and Carrie Estelle Williams. They resided at 600 Park Avenue in Salisbury, MD. She married Edward Nelson Robertson and had a son, Albert Clarence Smith Robertson (b. 1923). She divorced Edward in 1930.
