Abstract

Eight black and white photographic prints of the Marasco family farm located in Powellville, Maryland.

Biographical History

The Marasco's settled in Powellville, Maryland on property adjacent to Mount Hermon Road. 

Scope and Content Note

This collection includes eight black and white photographic prints of the Marasco and Wilkin’s family farms located in Powellville, Maryland off Mount Hermon Road, circa 1930s-1940s.  Some of the pictures have typed and handwritten descriptions on the back of the photos with dates, places, and names.  Pittsville is described as the location for some of the photos, however, the location is actually Powellville.  The majority of the pictures are dated July 1942.  Included are a picture of Salisbury Municipal Park and of Wicomico High School dated 1942, where Ray and Harry Marasco attended in 1934 and 1935  The other pictures depict farm life on the Marasco Farm and Wilkin’s family farm including barn structures, plows, farm hands, and a corn crib.  Earl Wilkins and his three sons are featured in one of the photographs as well as an unknown African Americfarmhandand.
