Abstract

Biographical History

Company E, 4th U.S. Colored Infantry was organized in Baltimore, Maryland, 1863. The unit participated in several expeditions during the War between the States, including action at New Kent Court House, and Bottom's Bridge. Three men of the regiment received the Medal of Honor for their actions at the Battle of Chaffin's Farm, Virginia.
