Abstract

The Somerset County Physicians collection contains a copy of the book "Somerset County Physicians" written by Clarence E. Collins in 1791. Also included are articles that were written about the book, and on the death of Collins, a photocopied excerpt from "History of Crisfield" by Woodrow T. Wilson about doctors in the area, and their obituaries from 1963.

Administrative History

While the reasoning behind the writing of the Somerset County Physicians is unknown, it includes many (if not all) of the physicians practicing in Somerset County from 1791 to 1934.  Most of the Physicians are recorded to have been born and practicing after 1800.
