Abstract

Eastern Shore Regional Library records document the functions of the non-profit entity which provides resources to the eight-county library systems on Maryland's Delmarva Peninsula, 1973-1987. Documenting materials include annual reports, staff directories, and newsletters.

Administrative History

The Eastern Shore Regional Library, Inc. is a state-funded non-profit with the goal of providing resources and support for the eight-county library systems on Maryland's Eastern Shore. ESRL is managed by an Administrator who reports to the Board of Trustees.

The Eastern Shore Regional Library operates a delivery system for the libraries on the Shore and acts as a liaison for the Maryland Interlibrary Loan Office. The Maryland Interlibrary Loan Organization (MILO) is a network of public, academic, school and special libraries throughout the state of Maryland. Through close cooperation, customers can get books, magazines, newspapers and other resources from over 700 libraries in the state.
