Abstract

The collection consists of a land patent for a 10-acre lot in Dorchester County, Maryland from Henry Ennalls Junior to William Bradly, dated May 21, 1754, and signed by Governor Horatio Sharpe.

Biographical History

William Bradly was born on his father's farm, "Bradly's Design" in Great Choptank Parish, Dorchester County, Maryland in 1730. He was a prominent farmer and landowner. He married first to a woman named Iometimes, and had a son, Thomas. He then married Elizabeth Patterson and had two sons, William Junior and Samuel, and a daughter, Sophia. Following the Revolutionary War, he relocated to the vicinity of Chillicothe, Ohio. Bradly died on April 13, 1812.
