Abstract

The Whittington and Newman Store Ledger, 1863-1866, documents the goods and services provided by the store located near Marion Station, Somerset County, Maryland. Goods and services included carriage wheels and associated repairs, plow mending, plow handles and wheel bushings. Coffins for men, women and children were also sold. The ledger notes customers names, prices and race.
