Abstract

The Amy Crittenden papers documents the research that contributed to Amy Crittenden’s graduate thesis at Salisbury University. Amy Crittenden’s thesis entitled Southern sympathies: The Civil War on Maryland's Eastern Shore focuses on the Civil War in Dorchester and Worcester counties. The collection includes drafts of the thesis, biographies of local figures, newspapers, as well as ledgers from local businesses. In addition research related to the Confederate and Union armies. The Amy Crittenden Papers dates from 1820-1991, with the bulk of the material dating to her graduate research from 1990-1991

Biographical History

Amy Crittenden was born in 1965 on the Eastern Shore, and has worked as a nurse for over 30 years. She is a professor of nursing at the University of Cincinnati, Blue Ash College in Blue Ash, Ohio. Amy possesses a bachelors and master’s degree in nursing. She also received a master’s degree in history from Salisbury University.
