Folklife Collection - Folklore of Individuals Diagnosed with Personality Disorders
by Salisbury University Students (1992)
1 folder (0.1 linear feet)
In a series of interviews of local Eastern Shore residents in 1992, Salisbury University students and teachers collected folk life material. For this project, psychology student Joseph Robertson conducted a study on individuals diagnosed with personality disorders. In the first part of his paper, Joseph tells the story of his older brother who dealt with schizophrenia. He then introduces his friend who suffered from depression and personality disorder. As far as folklore is concerned, the student studied how these people feel about their situation within society. Instead of interviewing them directly though, he used an observational approach. Booklets about Schizophrenia and Dual Diagnosis enclosed.
