In a series of interviews of local Eastern Shore residents in 1994, Salisbury University students and teachers collected folk life material. For this project, Richard Wiesberg and Chad Metzinger researched about the folklore related to motorcycle riding. They interviewed two fellow bikers with completely opposite inclinations to ask them why they preferred their style of motorcycle over another (cruising vs. sport). Several characteristics of this folk group such as clothing and nonverbal communication are also discussed, along with some accounts of violent accidents.

In 1993, former Salisbury University student Marc Dickerson collected folk material. His project describes the communities and the leisure activities that people indulged into in Seaford, Delaware. For instance, the gyms were the favorite place to watch Basketball games together during the Winter. In the Fall, people gathered at the football fields and hanging out at the ballpark was more of a Spring activity. The paper also mentions the different activities in town and what to avoid when going "uptown" where the community was very wary of outsiders.
