In a series of interviews of local Eastern Shore residents in 1985, Salisbury University students and teachers collected folk life material. For her fieldwork project, Marie Gregoire focused on the folklore around drinking during social gatherings. Her paper describes in details some of the most popular local drinking rituals.

In 1994, former Salisbury University student Brian Newhouse collected folk material. His collection is about the folklore he observed at Don's Belladonna's, a restaurant & bar on Eastern Shore Drive, Salisbury, Md. To illustrate the diversity of this folk group, the student portrays several workers and regular customers. He also talks about his experience as a student worker there, the different sub-groups coming into the restaurant (morning, early afternoon, happy hour, late night people) and the yearly custom of appreciation party before Christmas.

In 1993, former Salisbury University students Scott Deltuva, Sean Harris and Eric Wieland collected folk material. Their project focuses on drinking games played in college in the 1990's. They performed several fieldwork "parties" to observe the settings in which these games were most often played. A considerable number of games are described in their paper, including "Asshole" (a card game), "Battleship" (8 mugs and 2 quarters) and "Circle of Death" (another card game) to name a few. Photographs of cards enclosed.
