Folklife Collection - "Tell it to my Face if Your Brave Enough" Aspects of Graffiti as Folk Communication
by Salisbury University Students (1988)
1 folder (0.1 linear feet)
In 1988, Salisbury University students and teachers collected folk life material. For this collection, Mary Stanton decided to work on graffiti as a form of folk communication. Not only did she put together a considerable collection of graffiti, but she also explained each discussion thread (succession of announcement and its related comments) and its context in her paper. She didn't just type the graffiti but tried to replicate them on paper as well.
