Folklife Collection - Up the Crick
by Salisbury University Students (1992)
1 folder (0.1 linear feet)
In 1992, former Salisbury University Student James McCormick collected folk material. His collection is about the community of the "Crick", a small town of Irish settlers set on the banks of the Brandywine River near Wilmington, Delaware. He learned about this community from his grandfather, William Gordy Lloyd, who grew up there. His paper is mostly comprised of personal narratives describing how life was like "up the crick" during that time (probably around late 1920s to 1940s).
