Transaction Abstract In Dorchester County Orphans Court, Benjamin Ross 8 yo on 10 Dec last past, brought into court & it being represented to court that Benjamin Ross is not at service or learning a trade in service to his parents, is bound to serve as apprentice by Justices of Orphans' Court to John D. Parker until Benjamin arrives at age of 21 yrs. Parker to teach apprentice trade of farmer & supply him with suitable clothing & maintenance; when free to give him $20 & 2 suits of clothes as freedom dues. In lieu of education to also give him $25 in addition to freedom dues. Signed 25 May 1857.
