Abstract

Sepia-toned photographic print of the Eastern Shore League Salisbury Indians, who pose together with their coaches on the field in front of a series of bleachers. The print is signed on the back by the players, "Joe Kohlman, John Bassler, Leo Revolinsky, Joe Salazar, Joe Sarlis, Frank Deutsch, Frank Trechock, Juan Montero, Fred Thomas, Bill Luzansky, Bermin Gueva, Charles Gumby, and Jerry Lynn." The name of the photograph studio is also stamped on the verso, "Photo-Lite Studio, Ocean City, Md."

Administrative History

The Eastern Shore Baseball League was a minor league baseball team in the Delmarva penninsula for three decades. The league's first season was in 1922 and the last was in 1949, although the years were not consecutive, and featured teams from Delmarva. The first incarnation lasted from 1922 to mid-1928 (disbanded in July), the second from 1937–41, and the third from 1946–49.
